Who runs this site
VTOKU Academy (learn.vtoku.com) is the training site of VTOKU, a virtual production studio based in Hawaiʻi. Contact us at mail@vtoku.com.
Your account
You need an account to take a course, track progress, or attempt a knowledge check. Some courses can be previewed as a guest without an account, and guests cannot post, attempt quizzes, or record progress.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
Give accurate details when you sign up. One account per person.
Course content
Course material on this site belongs to VTOKU unless stated otherwise. You may use it to learn. You may not republish it, sell it, or pass it on as your own work.
Courses link to and quote third-party material, including manufacturer documentation and videos hosted elsewhere. That material belongs to its authors, is credited where it is used, and we do not control whether it stays available.
Behaviour
Course discussion forums are for asking and answering questions about the material. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, or that shares someone else's private information. We can remove posts and suspend accounts that do.
What we do not promise
Courses teach equipment and workflows that can cause injury or damage if handled carelessly, particularly live audio, electrical power, and studio rigging. The material describes safe practice as we understand it, but you are responsible for your own safety and equipment when you follow it.
We aim to keep the site available and the content current, and we cannot guarantee either. Content changes as software and hardware change.
Ending your access
You can ask us to close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will publish the new version here and ask you to agree to it the next time you sign in.

What this covers
This notice explains what learn.vtoku.com does with your information. It covers this site only. The main VTOKU website at vtoku.com has its own privacy policy, and the two are separate.
The site is run by VTOKU, Hawaiʻi. For anything in this notice, write to mail@vtoku.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
- Learning records. Which courses you are enrolled in, which activities you have opened or completed, your quiz attempts and grades, and anything you post in a course forum.
- Technical records. Moodle logs page views with your user ID, IP address, and timestamp. These are used for support and security.
- Cookies. A session cookie keeps you signed in. It is required for the site to work and is deleted when your session ends.
We do not ask for payment details on this site, and we do not run advertising or third-party tracking on it.
Why we hold it
To give you access to courses, to show your progress and let you resume where you stopped, to grade knowledge checks, to answer your questions, and to keep the site secure.
Who else is involved
- Google, if you choose to sign in with it. Google tells us your name and email; Google's own privacy policy covers what Google does.
- Railway, which hosts the site and its database on servers in the United States.
- YouTube, where many course videos are hosted. Playing an embedded video is a visit to YouTube and their terms apply to it.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning records while your account is open, so your progress and any completion record stay available to you. If you close your account we delete or anonymise your records, except where we have to keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices
You can see and edit your profile from your account at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its records: write to mail@vtoku.com or use the Data requests page in your profile. Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your data, and we will honour those.
Children
This site is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this notice we will publish the new version here, and ask you to review it the next time you sign in if the change is significant.
